International Circulation: You have a presentation about catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation at this meeting. Can you talk about where you see the direction of the treatment of atrial fibrillation heading? Do you think the indications for catheter ablation will be much broader in future than now?
Gerhard Hindricks : If we look at the high prevalence of atrial fibrillation in the western world and in China as well, with millions of people being affected today and even more millions of people being affected in the future, we have to recognize that there is space for a wide spectrum of different therapeutic strategies for patients with atrial fibrillation. Intra-rhythmic drugs will play a role, frequency regulation therapy will play a role, but when sinus rhythm is the treatment goal, I personally believe that catheterization will play the leading role in the future.
